Welcome in Elsass

At just over 8,000 km2, Alsace is one of the smallest regions in France. The region has managed to combine the best of French and German culture. In summer, Alsace, with its beautiful landscapes, offers outstanding views of the peaks of its castles or the vastness of its vineyards. But in winter, everything is enchanted by a fine layer of snow, a delicious smell of pastries from the oven and the glow of the Christmas markets – a tradition that pleases everyone. In the villages of Alsace, everyone’s dreams can come true.
You can discover fortifications and half-timbered houses and experience life in the Middle Ages or the Renaissance. All under the watchful eye of the region’s emblem, the stork, which nests on many buildings. In addition to walks and hikes in the villages on the plains, rolling hills and vineyards, there are countless attractions such as the eagle castle with its flying display (Volerie des Aigles) or the most significant and important of all the Vosges fortresses, the Haut-Koenisbourg, to name just two examples. At the end of the day, you can enjoy culinary specialties such as foie gras, “Backaofen”, sauerkraut or tarte flambée.
